As we have dicussed in the last article, Backgammon is a game of skill and luck. The goal is to move your chips carefully around the board to your inner board and at the same time your opponent shifts their pieces toward their inner board in the opposing direction. With opposing player chips shifting in opposite directions there is going to be conflict and the requirement for particular tactics at specific times. Here are the last 2 Backgammon strategies to complete your game.

The Priming Game Strategy

If the purpose of the blocking tactic is to slow down the opponent to move her pieces, the Priming Game plan is to absolutely stop any movement of the opponent by constructing a prime – ideally 6 points in a row. The competitor’s pieces will either get hit, or end up in a bad position if he ever attempts to leave the wall. The trap of the prime can be setup anyplace between point two and point eleven in your game board. Once you’ve successfully built the prime to stop the movement of your competitor, your competitor doesn’t even get a chance to roll the dice, that means you shift your chips and roll the dice again. You’ll be a winner for sure.

The Back Game Strategy

The aims of the Back Game tactic and the Blocking Game technique are very similar – to hurt your competitor’s positions in hope to boost your odds of succeeding, however the Back Game strategy utilizes seperate techniques to do that. The Back Game technique is generally utilized when you are far behind your competitor. To play Backgammon with this tactic, you have to hold two or more points in table, and to hit a blot (a single piece) late in the game. This tactic is more complex than others to employ in Backgammon seeing as it requires careful movement of your pieces and how the pieces are relocated is partly the result of the dice roll.
