As we have dicussed in the previous article, Backgammon is a game of ability and pure luck. The goal is to move your pieces carefully around the board to your inside board and at the same time your opponent moves their chips toward their inside board in the opposite direction. With opposing player chips moving in opposing directions there is going to be conflict and the need for particular strategies at specific times. Here are the last 2 Backgammon strategies to complete your game.

The Priming Game Tactic

If the purpose of the blocking strategy is to slow down the opponent to shift their checkers, the Priming Game plan is to absolutely block any movement of the opposing player by constructing a prime – ideally 6 points in a row. The competitor’s checkers will either get bumped, or end up in a bad position if she ever attempts to escape the wall. The trap of the prime can be setup anyplace between point two and point eleven in your game board. As soon as you’ve successfully built the prime to block the activity of your competitor, your competitor doesn’t even get to roll the dice, that means you move your checkers and roll the dice again. You will win the game for sure.

The Back Game Tactic

The objectives of the Back Game plan and the Blocking Game tactic are very similar – to hinder your competitor’s positions hoping to boost your odds of succeeding, but the Back Game tactic utilizes different techniques to achieve that. The Back Game strategy is often utilized when you are far behind your opponent. To participate in Backgammon with this strategy, you need to control 2 or more points in table, and to hit a blot (a single piece) late in the game. This technique is more difficult than others to play in Backgammon seeing as it needs careful movement of your checkers and how the checkers are relocated is partly the result of the dice toss.
