As we dicussed in the previous article, Backgammon is a casino game of ability and luck. The aim is to shift your checkers safely around the board to your inside board and at the same time your opponent shifts their checkers toward their home board in the opposite direction. With opposing player checkers shifting in opposing directions there is bound to be conflict and the need for particular strategies at particular instances. Here are the last two Backgammon plans to complete your game.

The Priming Game Tactic

If the aim of the blocking tactic is to hamper the opponents ability to shift his checkers, the Priming Game strategy is to completely block any activity of the opposing player by creating a prime – ideally 6 points in a row. The competitor’s checkers will either get bumped, or result a damaged position if she at all tries to escape the wall. The ambush of the prime can be setup anywhere between point 2 and point 11 in your board. After you have successfully built the prime to block the activity of the opponent, the competitor does not even get a chance to toss the dice, and you shift your checkers and roll the dice again. You will be a winner for sure.

The Back Game Strategy

The goals of the Back Game strategy and the Blocking Game plan are very similar – to harm your opponent’s positions hoping to boost your odds of winning, however the Back Game strategy relies on alternate tactics to achieve that. The Back Game strategy is frequently utilized when you are far behind your competitor. To compete in Backgammon with this strategy, you have to control 2 or more points in table, and to hit a blot (a single piece) late in the game. This strategy is more complex than others to use in Backgammon because it needs careful movement of your pieces and how the chips are moved is partially the result of the dice roll.
