As we have dicussed in the previous article, Backgammon is a casino game of ability and good luck. The aim is to move your checkers carefully around the board to your inner board while at the same time your opposing player moves their chips toward their inside board in the opposite direction. With competing player checkers moving in opposing directions there is bound to be conflict and the need for specific techniques at specific instances. Here are the last 2 Backgammon strategies to finish off your game.

The Priming Game Tactic

If the goal of the blocking strategy is to hamper the opponents ability to move his chips, the Priming Game strategy is to absolutely block any movement of the opposing player by assembling a prime – ideally 6 points in a row. The opponent’s chips will either get hit, or result a damaged position if she at all tries to escape the wall. The ambush of the prime can be built anyplace between point two and point eleven in your board. Once you have successfully built the prime to prevent the movement of the opponent, your competitor doesn’t even get a chance to toss the dice, and you shift your pieces and toss the dice yet again. You will win the game for sure.

The Back Game Technique

The objectives of the Back Game plan and the Blocking Game tactic are very similar – to hinder your opponent’s positions with hope to better your chances of winning, however the Back Game strategy relies on different tactics to do that. The Back Game technique is generally used when you’re far behind your opponent. To play Backgammon with this plan, you need to hold two or more points in table, and to hit a blot (a single checker) late in the game. This strategy is more challenging than others to play in Backgammon seeing as it needs careful movement of your pieces and how the chips are moved is partly the result of the dice roll.
