As we have dicussed in the last article, Backgammon is a casino game of ability and pure luck. The goal is to move your checkers safely around the board to your inner board and at the same time your opponent moves their chips toward their inside board in the opposing direction. With opposing player checkers heading in opposite directions there is going to be conflict and the need for specific strategies at particular instances. Here are the 2 final Backgammon tactics to finish off your game.

The Priming Game Strategy

If the aim of the blocking tactic is to slow down the opponent to shift his checkers, the Priming Game tactic is to absolutely stop any movement of the opposing player by building a prime – ideally 6 points in a row. The competitor’s checkers will either get bumped, or result a damaged position if she at all tries to leave the wall. The trap of the prime can be built anywhere between point two and point eleven in your game board. Once you have successfully built the prime to stop the movement of the opponent, the competitor doesn’t even get a chance to toss the dice, that means you move your chips and toss the dice again. You’ll win the game for sure.

The Back Game Technique

The aims of the Back Game technique and the Blocking Game tactic are very similar – to hinder your competitor’s positions in hope to boost your odds of winning, but the Back Game technique uses alternate tactics to do that. The Back Game plan is often employed when you are far behind your competitor. To compete in Backgammon with this plan, you have to control two or more points in table, and to hit a blot late in the game. This tactic is more complex than others to use in Backgammon seeing as it needs careful movement of your chips and how the chips are moved is partially the result of the dice toss.
