The goal of the Running Game tactic is to entice all your chips into your inside board and pull them off as quickly as you could. The best scenario to use this strategy is when you think you might be able to shift your own checkers quicker than the opposing player does: when 1) you have a fewer checkers on the board; 2) all your chips have past your competitor’s pieces; or 3) your opposing player does not use the hitting or blocking tactic.

The main goal of the blocking strategy, by its title, is to stop your competitor’s checkers, temporarily, while not fretting about moving your chips rapidly. After you have established the blockade for the competitor’s movement with a few chips, you can move your other checkers quickly off the board. The player really should also have an apparent plan when to extract and shift the pieces that you utilized for blocking. The game becomes intriguing when your opponent uses the same blocking technique.
