The goal of a Backgammon match is to move your pieces around the Backgammon board and pull those pieces from the game board quicker than your opposing player who works harder to achieve the same buthowever they move in the opposing direction. Succeeding in a game of Backgammon requires both tactics and luck. How far you will be able to shift your chips is up to the numbers from rolling the dice, and just how you shift your chips are decided on by your overall playing techniques. Enthusiasts use a few strategies in the differing stages of a game based on your positions and opponent’s.

The Running Game Technique

The aim of the Running Game plan is to entice all your checkers into your inner board and bear them off as fast as you could. This tactic focuses on the pace of advancing your checkers with absolutely no efforts to hit or stop your opponent’s chips. The best time to use this technique is when you think you might be able to move your own chips quicker than the opposition does: when 1) you have less pieces on the board; 2) all your checkers have past your opponent’s checkers; or 3) your opposing player doesn’t employ the hitting or blocking technique.

The Blocking Game Plan

The main goal of the blocking strategy, by its title, is to block the opponent’s checkers, temporarily, not worrying about moving your checkers rapidly. Once you’ve established the blockage for your opponent’s movement with a couple of pieces, you can shift your other checkers rapidly from the board. The player really should also have a good plan when to extract and shift the chips that you employed for the blockade. The game becomes interesting when your opposition utilizes the same blocking technique.
