As we have dicussed in the previous article, Backgammon is a casino game of talent and good luck. The goal is to shift your pieces safely around the board to your inside board while at the same time your opposition moves their chips toward their inside board in the opposing direction. With opposing player pieces heading in opposite directions there is bound to be conflict and the need for specific tactics at specific times. Here are the last 2 Backgammon plans to complete your game.

The Priming Game Strategy

If the purpose of the blocking plan is to hamper the opponents ability to move her checkers, the Priming Game tactic is to absolutely block any activity of the opponent by building a prime – ideally 6 points in a row. The competitor’s chips will either get bumped, or end up in a battered position if he ever tries to escape the wall. The ambush of the prime can be established anywhere between point 2 and point eleven in your board. As soon as you’ve successfully built the prime to stop the movement of your opponent, your competitor doesn’t even get to roll the dice, and you move your pieces and roll the dice yet again. You’ll be a winner for sure.

The Back Game Strategy

The aims of the Back Game technique and the Blocking Game tactic are similar – to hinder your opponent’s positions with hope to better your odds of succeeding, but the Back Game technique uses alternate tactics to achieve that. The Back Game plan is commonly employed when you are far behind your competitor. To play Backgammon with this technique, you need to hold two or more points in table, and to hit a blot late in the game. This plan is more challenging than others to use in Backgammon seeing as it requires careful movement of your chips and how the checkers are moved is partially the outcome of the dice toss.
