The goal of a Backgammon game is to move your chips around the Backgammon board and pull them off the game board faster than your competitor who works just as hard to do the same buthowever they move in the opposite direction. Winning a match of Backgammon needsrequires both tactics and good luck. Just how far you will be able to move your checkers is left to the numbers from rolling the dice, and how you move your pieces are decided on by your overall playing plans. Enthusiasts use a number of tactics in the different parts of a match based on your positions and opponent’s.

The Running Game Plan

The aim of the Running Game technique is to entice all your pieces into your inside board and pull them off as quickly as you could. This plan concentrates on the pace of advancing your chips with little or no efforts to hit or block your competitor’s checkers. The ideal scenario to employ this tactic is when you think you can move your own checkers a lot faster than your opposing player does: when 1) you have less checkers on the game board; 2) all your chips have past your opponent’s pieces; or 3) the opponent does not use the hitting or blocking tactic.

The Blocking Game Tactic

The primary aim of the blocking strategy, by its name, is to stop your opponent’s chips, temporarily, not worrying about moving your pieces quickly. Once you’ve created the blockage for the opponent’s movement with a few pieces, you can shift your other chips quickly from the game board. You will need to also have a good plan when to extract and shift the checkers that you employed for blocking. The game becomes intriguing when the opponent utilizes the same blocking tactic.
