The aim of a Backgammon match is to shift your pieces around the game board and bear those pieces from the game board quicker than your opponent who works just as hard to achieve the same buthowever they move in the opposing direction. Winning a round of Backgammon requires both strategy and luck. Just how far you can move your checkers is up to the numbers from tossing the dice, and the way you move your chips are decided on by your overall gambling plans. Players use different tactics in the differing stages of a game based on your positions and opponent’s.

The Running Game Strategy

The aim of the Running Game strategy is to entice all your checkers into your home board and bear them off as fast as you can. This strategy concentrates on the pace of shifting your chips with no efforts to hit or barricade your opponent’s chips. The ideal time to employ this strategy is when you think you can move your own chips quicker than your opponent does: when 1) you have less pieces on the board; 2) all your pieces have moved beyond your opponent’s checkers; or 3) your opposing player doesn’t use the hitting or blocking tactic.

The Blocking Game Plan

The main aim of the blocking tactic, by its name, is to block the competitor’s pieces, temporarily, while not fretting about moving your chips rapidly. As soon as you have created the blockade for your competitor’s movement with a few pieces, you can shift your other pieces quickly from the board. You should also have an apparent strategy when to back off and shift the checkers that you employed for the blockade. The game gets intriguing when the opposition utilizes the same blocking technique.
