The aim of a Backgammon match is to move your checkers around the game board and bear them off the board quicker than your challenger who works just as hard to do the same buthowever they move in the opposite direction. Succeeding in a game in Backgammon requires both tactics and fortune. Just how far you can shift your pieces is up to the numbers from rolling a pair of dice, and just how you move your pieces are decided on by your overall gambling techniques. Enthusiasts use differing techniques in the differing parts of a game dependent on your positions and opponent’s.

The Running Game Plan

The aim of the Running Game plan is to entice all your checkers into your inside board and bear them off as fast as you could. This plan concentrates on the pace of moving your chips with absolutely no efforts to hit or stop your opponent’s pieces. The ideal time to use this strategy is when you believe you can shift your own chips quicker than the opposing player does: when 1) you have less checkers on the board; 2) all your pieces have moved beyond your opponent’s pieces; or 3) your opponent doesn’t employ the hitting or blocking technique.

The Blocking Game Technique

The primary goal of the blocking plan, by its title, is to stop your opponent’s chips, temporarily, while not worrying about shifting your pieces rapidly. After you have created the barrier for your opponent’s movement with a few pieces, you can shift your other chips rapidly off the game board. The player will need to also have a clear plan when to withdraw and move the checkers that you used for blocking. The game gets interesting when the opponent utilizes the same blocking tactic.
