As we dicussed in the last article, Backgammon is a game of talent and good luck. The goal is to shift your pieces carefully around the game board to your inside board while at the same time your opponent moves their chips toward their home board in the opposite direction. With competing player chips moving in opposing directions there is going to be conflict and the need for specific techniques at specific times. Here are the last 2 Backgammon plans to complete your game.

The Priming Game Tactic

If the goal of the blocking plan is to hamper the opponents ability to shift her checkers, the Priming Game strategy is to absolutely stop any movement of the opposing player by constructing a prime – ideally 6 points in a row. The opponent’s pieces will either get bumped, or result a battered position if he/she ever tries to leave the wall. The trap of the prime can be setup anyplace between point two and point eleven in your game board. As soon as you have successfully constructed the prime to block the activity of the competitor, the opponent doesn’t even get a chance to roll the dice, and you move your chips and toss the dice again. You will be a winner for sure.

The Back Game Plan

The aims of the Back Game tactic and the Blocking Game technique are similar – to hinder your competitor’s positions hoping to improve your odds of winning, but the Back Game tactic relies on different techniques to do that. The Back Game tactic is frequently used when you’re far behind your opponent. To compete in Backgammon with this strategy, you need to hold 2 or more points in table, and to hit a blot late in the game. This plan is more challenging than others to use in Backgammon because it needs careful movement of your checkers and how the pieces are moved is partially the result of the dice toss.
