The aim of a Backgammon game is to shift your checkers around the game board and get them from the game board quicker than your opposing player who works harder to do the same buthowever they move in the opposite direction. Winning a round of Backgammon needsrequires both tactics and luck. Just how far you will be able to move your pieces is up to the numbers from rolling a pair of dice, and just how you shift your checkers are determined by your overall playing tactics. Enthusiasts use differing plans in the differing parts of a game dependent on your positions and opponent’s.

The Running Game Plan

The goal of the Running Game strategy is to entice all your chips into your home board and bear them off as quickly as you could. This strategy focuses on the speed of advancing your checkers with no efforts to hit or barricade your opponent’s pieces. The ideal time to use this tactic is when you think you might be able to move your own chips faster than the opposition does: when 1) you have a fewer pieces on the board; 2) all your chips have moved beyond your opponent’s chips; or 3) the opponent doesn’t employ the hitting or blocking plan.

The Blocking Game Tactic

The main aim of the blocking strategy, by its name, is to block the competitor’s chips, temporarily, not worrying about moving your chips rapidly. After you have established the blockade for the competitor’s movement with a couple of chips, you can move your other pieces rapidly off the board. You should also have a good plan when to withdraw and move the checkers that you employed for blocking. The game gets intriguing when the competitor utilizes the same blocking strategy.
