The objective of a Backgammon game is to shift your checkers around the Backgammon board and pull those pieces off the game board faster than your challenger who works just as hard to achieve the same buthowever they move in the opposite direction. Succeeding in a game in Backgammon requires both strategy and luck. How far you can shift your checkers is left to the numbers from rolling a pair of dice, and the way you shift your pieces are decided on by your overall playing strategies. Players use differing plans in the differing stages of a game dependent on your positions and opponent’s.
The Running Game Plan
The goal of the Running Game strategy is to entice all your checkers into your inside board and pull them off as fast as you can. This technique focuses on the pace of moving your chips with no efforts to hit or block your competitor’s chips. The ideal scenario to employ this plan is when you think you can move your own chips quicker than your opponent does: when 1) you have less chips on the board; 2) all your pieces have past your competitor’s chips; or 3) your opposing player doesn’t employ the hitting or blocking plan.
The Blocking Game Technique
The main goal of the blocking plan, by its name, is to block your opponent’s chips, temporarily, while not fretting about shifting your checkers quickly. Once you have established the barrier for your competitor’s movement with a few checkers, you can move your other chips swiftly from the board. You will need to also have a clear plan when to extract and move the checkers that you utilized for the blockade. The game gets interesting when the competitor uses the same blocking tactic.
